Yes.

If you designate your estate as beneficiary, you must have a valid will to ensure benefits are paid promptly and in accordance with your wishes.

How do I choose my beneficiary?

Simply complete the application form and return it to your school board.

What happens if I do not choose a beneficiary?

Benefits will then be payable according to your will, after your estate has been settled.

If you do not have a will, benefits will be payable to your estate.

Note: If you reside in Quebec and designate your legal spouse as your beneficiary, the designation is automatically irrevocable, unless you specifically make it revocable when you first designate him or her.
