What is the annual deductible?

The annual deductible is the portion of covered expenses that you must pay before the Health Plan pays benefits in a given calendar year.

Current annual deductible
$25 per person, maximum $50 per family

Which expenses does the deductible apply to?

The deductible applies to all eligible expenses, except for:

semiprivate room and board charges in a public general hospital in Canada;

emergency expenses outside the province of residence and medical assistance outside Canada; and

room and board in a rehabilitation institution or convalescent home.
