Computer Committee
To study factors affecting teachers involved in providing computer education services in their schools and to report on the following among others:
How computer education is being handled by the different school boards.
What concerns teachers have that need to be addressed.
The availability of technicians and technical support in the schools.
The training available for teachers both for teaching technology in the classroom and for teaching technology courses.
The technology provided for teacher use.
Review and make recommendations regarding the QPAT website.
Curriculum
Council
To monitor and report on the Quebec Educational Program as it affects our school system.
To review and evaluate the implementation of curriculum changes in the schools.
To monitor the results of curriculum studies and the work of the focus groups on curriculum reform and make proposals that serve as the basis for policy on matters of curriculum for QPAT.
To continue its policy of liaison with subject Associations.
To contribute articles to Liaison outlining the work of Curriculum Council.
To study the issue of reform-related report cards.

Reviews research studies and other
material in order to identify key issues and concerns
with regards to human rights and social justice.
Develop recommendations to the Executive Committee and the Board of Directors to implement specific actions to address the following issues:

human rights and social justice issues
Make recommendations to the Board of Directors re spending.

Plans Committee
Gives advice regarding negotiations.
Scrutinizes reports of the operations
of QPAT group insurance plans.
Monitors pension plans.
Reviews
all insurance plans.
New Teachers Committee
To produce appropriate information for beginning teachers.
To work with local teacher unions to develop and implement teacher induction programs (including both professional/career issues and union involvement).
Nominations
Committee
Ensures that, no later than February 14th
of each year, there is sent to each place where there
are members in good standing of active members of the
Association, a request for nominations, specifying the
posts for which elections are necessary, the qualifications
for such posts, and such further information regarding
election procedures as the Nominations Committee deems
relevant.
Receives nominations for elective Executive offices, each
nomination to be signed by at least 15 members in
good standing drawn from at least 2 active members
of the Association, accompanied by the curriculum vitae
of the nominee and his or her consent in writing, and
to be submitted to the Nominations Committee within 21 calendar
days of the call for nominations being issued, on which
date nominations shall cease.
Examines all nominations and determines their authenticity.
Publicizes
nominations received to the membership of the Association
by inserting the name, the picture and the curriculum
vitae of each nominee in the Association's Newspaper(s)
or Newsletter(s), ensuring that all candidates be given
equal publicity.
Reports
all nominations to the Board of Directors at its first
meeting after the close of nominations.
Ensures
that ballots are distributed to all members in good standing
of the active members of the Association.
Makes
provision for by-elections, when necessary.
Report Card Committee
To study the issue of reform-related report cards and to report its findings to the Executive of QPAT and Board of Directors.
Special
Education Committee
Monitor the implementation of the new special education provisions in the English school boards.
Make a comprehensive report on the above to the QPAT Executive and Board of Directors in January and in June 2009.
Recommend pedagogical and political strategies in relation to special education.
Review the collective agreement and make suggestions for possible demands relative to special education provisions for the next round of negotiations.

Monitor and exchange information
on Professional Development activities within the QPAT.
Advise the QPAT Executive and Board of Directors on Professional
Development issues.
Formulate recommendations reacting to MELS policy.
Liaise with university departments and faculties
of education.
